Bass Guitar Secrets Review

Bass Guitar Secrets website www.bassguitarsecrets.com

Learning to play the bass guitar can be a great experience however finding a teacher for private lessons can be difficult and in some cases too expensive.  The alternative to private lessons is learning to play using one of the many multimedia learn to play bass courses that are featured on the internet or at your local music store.  One of the better bass guitar courses is Bass Guitar Secrets which uses a multimedia eBook format to take you through each of the lessons.  Bass Guitar Secrets has been created by Alex Sampson who has a background in playing and teaching bass guitar and this experience translates well with the way the eBook is written.

One of the many good points about Bass Guitar Secrets is the great value.  This eBook costs less than if you had a few private lessons and covers most of the topics that a beginner bass player needs while they are learning.  The Bass Guitar Secrets website uses some very over the top advertising which may scare people away from purchasing this course however if you can look past this the course is worth purchasing.

The Bass Guitar Secrets course can be purchased in one of three ways, as a hard copy package with audio CDs and printed manuals, as CD-ROM with all the information on this one disc or there is an option of downloading the whole course to your computer as two PDF files.  The best of these options is to download the course as it is less expensive and quick to download even if you have a slower internet connection.

The main features of Bass Guitar Secrets are the two PDF files (that you receive when you purchase the downloaded version) that contain the lesson details.  Each topic is explained using easy to understand charts, music notation and tablature and some of the lessons also have embedded audio files which you can play along to.  The course is divided into two sections with most of the first eBook covering the basics of learning to play bass guitar and the second eBook building on this knowledge and introducing more intermediate skills.  Apart from the main PDF files Bass Guitar Secrets also comes with a few extra features which includes a couple of extra eBooks, groove station software, a guitar tuner and a learning game called Fretboard Genius.

Bass Guitar Secrets is a great course for people shopping on a budget.  Don’t get put off by the website hype this package is quite a good course in terms of value for money.

Fretboard Formula Review

Fretboard Formula website www.fretboardformula.com

Finding good quality bass guitar teaching products can be a battle for those who wish to learn to play the bass guitar only not as an extra to guitar lessons.  One of the better bass learning products on the market is the new multimedia bass guitar teaching program called Fretboard Formula.  One of the many positive features of this bass guitar course is that it has been designed by Alex Sampson who is actually a bass guitar player not just a guitar player teaching bass as an extra.  Alex has also released a couple of other learn to play bass courses which are quite good.

Fretboard Formula  is one of the larger courses that teaches the bass guitar with over 9 hours of audio and video lessons spaced out through the entire course.  This course covers in detail many aspects or skills that other bass courses choose to leave out.  Fretboard Formula is available in three different versions with a majority of the written material the same in all three versions the only differences are the level of support available and a few bonus features that are included only in the Platinum and Gold versions of Fretboard Formula.

Fretboard Formula is packed full of features and comes in the form of 14 multimedia discs and a main workbook.  The discs are divided into two cases and are organised by a menu at the beginning of each disc.  The work book has been split up into colour coded references to make things easy to follow as you move through the lessons.  This course also contains a video lesson component which features excellent tips and skills for all levels of bass guitar playing from beginners through to intermediate level.  The video lessons are not as polished as other courses on the market for bass guitar however they more than make up for this with excellent content in the video lessons.  The three versions of Fretboard Formula available all have different levels of access to the bonus features.  Some of these bonuses include  private coaching sessions, access to a free webinar and access to Bass Chopz Accelerator and depend mainly on which version you purchase.

Overall Fretboard Formula is an excellent course for anyone who is looking at learning to play the bass guitar in the comfort of their own home.  This course is packed full of excellent features including video lessons and comprehensive workbooks making Fretboard Formula an excellent choice for beginner bass players.

Music Master Pro for Bass Review

Music Master Pro website www.musicmasterpro.com

At first look Music Master Pro appears to be an impressive bass guitar course which offers a huge library of resources, lessons and knowledge at a very competitive price.  The website offers those who purchase this course access to 1000s of bass guitar (and other instruments such as guitar, piano and drums) lessons as well as learning at least 10 genres and styles and having access to all the weekly lesson updates on the Music Master Pro website.  What you really get with Music Master Pro is completely different to what is advertised and at this stage it becomes very obvious that Music Master Pro is in fact a scam that is designed to rip off people who are looking for an online music course.  This website is run by two people, Jay Dynasty and Greg Evans who have various aliases and have run a number of these types of scams.

Once you have paid and registered with the website you will have access to the members area of Music Master Pro.  The members page contains annoying banner and pop up ads and to make things worse the video clips have to be downloaded individually which takes some time and is not that great for people with slower internet connections.

Music Master Pro does contain some content although it is nowhere near the amount advertised on the website.  The course consists of 5 video lessons, 5 audio only versions of the previous video lessons, 4 PDF documents and 4 bonus video lessons that are even worse quality than the main 5 video lessons.  The video lessons which are advertised as the main part of the course run for just over 11 minutes in total and are very poor in terms of content, resolution and sound.  The video lessons have little to no structure and jump around randomly from topic to topic.  The 5 audio lessons are absolutely useless as you need to see what is going on to understand what is being shown.  Apart from the video and audio content Music Master Pro also contains 4 PDF documents with a total of seven pages of so called music theory and some bonus video lessons that were so badly put together that it is hard to see what is actually being taught.

Avoid this so called Bass Guitar course at all costs as it is clear that Music Master Pro is a scam.  If you a looking for a good quality bass guitar course there are quite a few excellent choices on the market.
